He has also taken the time to answer technical questions I had about approaching my build and has given me his experienced opinion on certain aspects of it. “I first came across EPR in 2012 and right from the start I recognized a level of attention to detail in his work that I hadn’t seen in another engine builder’s work up to that point. In the past 7 years Mitch and I have had frequent conversations and he has always been more than willing to go back and forth with me on ideas, explain things to me, and answer any questions I might have. He is straightforward, to the point, and brutally honest. Some people may consider him rude because of those qualities, but I think that’s what’s great about him. He’s not gonna beat around the bush or tell you something just because that’s the answer you want to hear and I have no problem with that. I have received quotes for an engine build from him and I can say that the pricing is fair given the machining operations and additional labor being performed. I would say if you were to compare pricing to other well known import engine builders in the country (Mazworx, JWT, etc) it would be similar or less even. In 2017 I referred my friend to EPR after another shop’s “built” EJ257 experienced a rod bearing failure after one year at only 300whp. After some consulting with Mitch he made the decision to send the engine to EPR for a full inspection and rebuild with some upgrades that would improve both the reliability and performance of the engine. They worked out a payment plan as my friend did not have the funds up front to cover the cost of a rebuild. This obviously draws out the timeline of the build but it also ensured that my friend didn’t have to settle or compromise on his engine. Mitch has kept us updated on the process along the way, and has been careful to bring to our attention and address any additional issues that were discovered. All of the work looks phenomenal. The engine was just recently completed and we can’t wait to get the new turbo setup and fuel system complete to see what this thing is capable of on the dyno and at the drag strip.“

“I was referred to EPR by a friend who competes in the U.K. TimeAttack series in his 300zx, after I was suffering with some persistent issues with my VG30DETT. Mitch happily assisted with technical help even though I hadn’t spent a single dollar with him. I eventually bought an EPR solid timing belt tensioner and Kevlar timing belt, which solved my timing fluctuations. I later suffered an unrelated engine failure on an engine I had built. Due to the ongoing assistance I received from Mitch, the fact only specialised CNC work is out sourced and every other aspect of the precision machining and assembly is done in house, I committed to a full EPR build. Mitch undertook a full consultation process to discuss what I wanted from my engine and how I could best achieve that target, as well as answering and explaining technical questions I had about the parts and processes that will be used for my engine. His detailed approach with the blue print dossier supplied with the engine, the aftercare service to health check the engine is second to none. I Can’t recommend Mitch and EP Racing enough and I look forward to many miles on my motorsport quality VG30DETT.”
